Haifa is home to the Technion , also known as the Israel Institute of Technology . The Technion’s students specialize in learning about high-tech industries such as computer science , aerospace engineering , and medicine . It is one of five universities in the world where students design , build , and launch their own satellites . The Technion’s original building is now the site of the Technoda , the National Museum of Science and Technology . Visitors can participate in the interactive exhibits .
