Tommy & Zoe : Hi Buddy ! Zoe : How old are you ? Buddy : Me ? I’m five . Extension activity ideas : Go around the room and ask students, “How old are you ? ” . 1 Students answer with “I am ( number ) ” or “I’m ( number ) . ” Note : Students may want to include “and a half . ” Teachers can say this phrase to them and have them repeat it even though it is not a target phrase in this lesson . Have students go on a scavenger hunt around school finding three people to ask, “How . 2 old are you ? ” Pg . 31, Exercise 4 : Write and talk . This is a class walkabout activity . Have students move around the room asking friends their age : ● o Student 1 asks Student 2, “How old are you ? ” o Student 2 answers, “I’m ___ . ” o Student 1 writes the number in their book . o Student 2 writes their name or allows Student 1 to copy their name from page 11 . Encourage students to say “thank you” to each other . ● Note : Although it is early in the year for students to write their names on lines, the lines are there for them to begin to think about proper letter formation and placement . Students should let their friends write their own names into their books .
