Show students the sound of the letter in each letter bubble and explain how together ● they form the word in the larger word bubble at the end of the row . Read the sounds and then the word out loud and have the students listen to your ● pronunciation . For example : / t / / a / / p / → tap Have students read chorally . Then call on individual students to read a word . ● Have students practice reading silently . ● Call out a word and have individual students read a word that rhymes with it . ● Exercise extension ideas : Students who are ready can write the target reading words into their notebooks and . 1 draw corresponding pictures . Have students add to the word family webs in their notebooks from the last Reading . 2 and Writing lesson . Pg . 64, Exercise 2 : Read and color .
