When working on the reading texts with the students, it is important to ensure they notice the words they have learned to read, are able to recognize key words in the text, can identify the sight words you have taught, and understand where the sentences start and where they end . Likewise, it is a good idea to talk about the pictures, having the students predict what they think will happen in the text, and then come back to their predictions after reading the whole text with the class .
