לשון The past tense The base form of the verb in the past tense in Hebrew is the third person masculine singular ( he ) . The past tense is formed by adding a pronoun suffix ( word ending ) to the base form of the verb . In the past tense in Hebrew , the pronoun is normally dropped before the verb , except in the third person . לומד , ללמוד : in spoken , למדתם / למדתן * Although you should say . למדתם / למדתן Hebrew you say טס , לטוס : מדבר , לדבר : meaning to be , is not used in the present tense , but it להיות * The verb is used in the past tense , meaning was or were . It agrees with the subject of the sentence . The suffixes are the same as for other verbs in the past tense . להיות :
