Jaffa Jaffa’s twisty , cobblestone streets wind around each other like a giant maze . The streets are so narrow and crowded that it is easier to walk in this ancient city than to drive . Many of the buildings look as if they have been around for hundreds of years . In fact , archaeologists have discovered objects in Jaffa that are 4 , 000 years old , making it one of the world’s oldest port cities . The Artists’ Quarter is home to many art galleries and studios . As you wander up and down Jaffa’s narrow alleys and peek into open doorways , you can see artists at work on paintings and sculpture . The Hebrew word for “ beautiful” is yafeh—very similar to the name of this ancient and very beautiful seaside community . Who Am I ? I am a prophet who set sail from Jaffa .
