[ Note : While teaching numbers like 20, 30, [ … ] , emphasize that the "y" in the "ty" ending produces a long / iː / sound, as in "twenty" ( / ˈtwɛntiː / ) . This is an important phonetic rule that will be explicitly covered in Unit 3, so introducing it now will help prepare students for future lessons .
