Important concept : The middle sound is a different focus than with other letters . Students often have a hard time hearing the difference between short / a / and short / e / . This should be reviewed before the Lesson, focusing on hearing the difference, as well as noticing the shapes of our mouths when we make the sounds properly . Additional materials needed for this Lesson At the start of class : scissors, glue, markers, or crayons .
