58 My Way, Teacher's Guide Learn : Instructional Template This is a gallery of pictures showing different school items in different quantities . ● Show the first slide and review the vocabulary of the school items on the desk . ● Show each slide and ask students : ● How many bags / books / pencils / markers / notebooks / pens ? ○ What color are the bags / books / pencils / markers / notebooks / pens ? ○ Scaffolding options : ○ The number of items ( Example : two ) ■ The number of items + name of the item ( Example : three backpacks ) ■ The number of items + color + item ( Example : four blue pens ) ■ After the student answers, repeat : “Yes, number + color + item” to model rich English ● language usage . Lesson extension ideas : Call up any number of students and ask them to bring a specific school item with them . . 1 Ask the class, “How many ( item / s ) ? ” Call on individual students to answer . ● Example : Call up eight students, each with a pencil in hand .
