29 My Way, Teacher's Guide Speaking My Way provides numerous speaking activities, including pair work, class discussion, and various interactive games . Teachers should listen to student production as a way of understanding their acquisition of the language . As the year progresses, students should move from single - word answers to phrases, and then to sentences, adding in adjectives according to their ability . Final games and projects Each Unit of My Way ends with a final game and project that incorporates review of letters, vocabulary, language structures, and reading ( in Units 3, 4, and 5 ) . As students play games, the teacher should walk around observing student abilities . The final project is presented in pairs or in front of the class . The teacher should assess student language usage and use the student's self - assessment to understand how the student sees themselves . Teacher - student conferences While students are working in their books, teachers are advised to sit with students one on one to hear them read or name letter sounds, and to ask them to describe pictures . This should be done for whichever Part the class is currently learning, or the previous Part . This gives the teacher insight about the student’s level and language learning . Individual Digital Platform Teachers using the My Way program have access to reports of individual student progress on the digital platform .
