Have students read each sentence . ● Have students circle the picture that matches the sentence . ● Answer key : Pg . 123, Exercise 1 : Play, say and read . Have students work in pairs . Students can use erasers or other small school supplies as game pieces . ● Each student rolls the dice in their turn and advances the number of steps appearing ● on the dice, according to the arrows . Students read the word on the box they land on or name the picture in the box . ● If students land on a box with a red arrow and say the word correctly, they follow the ● arrow to advance . The first student to reach “end” wins . ● Students can play multiple times . ● Final Project ( Pg . 124 ) Pg . 124, Exercise 1 : Cut, color, stick and say . Have students work in groups of three or four . Individually, have students cut out, color, and glue animals into their safari scene ● choosing the animals they want . Cutouts can be found on SB page 243 . Then, in small groups, have Student 1 start and give the other students clues about an ● animal in their scene . The other students should guess what the animal is . Students can use the “adjective bank” as a visual cue for words they can use . ○ For example : ○ Student 1 : “It’s big and brown . It’s under the tree . What is it ? ” ■ Students 2, 3, 4 : “It’s a bear . ” ■ Switch roles making sure all students get at least one turn to share . ■ Reminder : Students should be encouraged to speak in complete sentences . Some may be ready to give a single - word answer, a two to three - word phrase, and some the whole sentence . Some may be ready to add adjectives to the sentence .
